Divine appointment to make historyWe are on a divine appointment to make history. There are times where God calls us to step in and make "His-story". This summer is one of those times.
Two years ago, about 3,200 people throughout Québec were touched by the love of God through the Québec Je t'aime festival. This summer, the festival is returning to Québec City for the city's 400-year anniversary. This is a strategic time and the Lord has granted us a strategic location. We are looking for revolutionary Lovers of God to join us as we re-present God to a people who are hungry to know Him.
Tipping the Scales
Québec, the cradle of the North American civilization, was the womb that birthed the Gospel to the "New World." This 400-year anniversary is what I would call a "tipping" season. It is a time at which a single, small, strategic action can tip the scales and begin massive change.
This time has come upon us here in Québec and Canada. It is the time for the shift from hopelessness to hope; from crushed dreams to dreams-come-true. It is the time for mass deliverance and for an Exodus from spiritual "Egypt". It is the time to enter the Promised Land. It is the time for salvation.
The bottom line
Why did Jesus come and die on the cross and rise from the dead? He came because God so loved the world that He gave His only Son Jesus so that whoever believed in Him would not perish but would have eternal life. Jesus said in Luke 15:7, "I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance". This really shows us the heart of our heavenly Father. The bottom-line of our Christianity is souls being saved from Hell.
Québec - the ripest harvest in North America
Unlike any other place in North America, there are at least 4 million people here in Québec who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus. Why? Because 40 years ago the vast majority of Baby Boomers rejected Church and God and embraced secularism. Consequently, they neither took their children to church, nor gave them a Bible, nor raised them with any knowledge of God. Therefore, though this new generation has no knowledge of God, neither do they have any baggage against Him. They are actually open and hungry to know Jesus.
Appointment with the Harvest
Yes, for years, many have prophesied over Québec. We have prayed. We have fasted. We have repented. We have done the prophetic acts. We have danced, we have cried, we have done conferences. Now what?
A year and half ago, a friend had a dream in which she saw Lovers of God and the Québec Je t'aime team parade into Chateau Jacques Cartier dressed in peasant farming clothes. There was a spirit of celebration as we gathered in anticipation of the harvest we were about to bring in.
Check this out! Lovers of God just received a permit to set up the Québec Je t'aime Outreach Festival this summer (June 15 to June 22, 2008) in Parc Cartier-Brébeuf, the national historic site where Jacques Cartier spent his first winter in Québec. This is no co-incidence! We are appointed to harvest in the ripe field that is Québec.
Now it is the time to put on our "farmer" clothes and go out--for the harvest is ripe.
We have a dream
We have a dream that, just as 40 years ago the world (50 million visitors!) turned its eyes to Québec because of the Montréal Expo, in this generation the world will once again turn its eyes to Québec for the God Expo. We believe that this is not just our dream; it is God's dream.
It is time to tip the scales from secularism to faith in God.
