We, Christians in the western world, by and large have lost not only the original message of Jesus but also the way of love He has blazed for us! I believe that the time has come to look forward by looking backward, to get back to the basics, to the 101s, to the roots of what Jesus really meant this whole Christianity to be.

The Kingdom of God is the Kingdom where love rules. A love that lies down its life for another...the kind of love that Jesus demonstrated to us by dying for our sake. But that Kingdom does not start after we die. It starts here and now on this earth in this world. This is the GOOD NEWS that Jesus announced to us. The heart of Jesus' message is, "love God and love others like ourselves". If we do that this world would be a different place.

That is why we did SET APART last August and that is why we are doing it again...

During one of the activities of the last SET APART I was very moved when I listened to the prayers that the young people crafted to express their desire to be set apart to God. There is a people that the Lord has set apart to Himself, a people who pledge allegiance to Him as the kingdoms collide.

If that is you...then ask the Lord if He would have you join us on another daring adventure to find out what Christianity is meant to be.

SET APART is not a retreat, neither is it a conference nor a Bible school; it is neither an inner healing seminar nor a church function. SET APART is an experiment, a learning experience for living together an authentic Christianity.

The Encounter and Vision:
Last year during the Jewish Feast of Dedication (Hannukah), I had a visit from the Lord in my dream. This was perhaps one of the most profound encounters that I have had with the Lord for a while.

One the things the Lord told me was, "Hany, Christianity in the West has been reduced to an event. But it was never meant to be an event but a radical, revolutionary, counter-culture lifestyle characterized by sacrificial love and the way of the cross!"

In this encounter, the Lord explained to me how every time a great darkness descends upon a land, God raises up young people who become like hinges upon whom He can turn the course of History.

Our Western Christianity little resembles the faith of early believers, or even the faith of persecuted believers in other countries. We have little faith, little impact, little power, little discipline - could it be little love?

We are at a crossroads. The church is in crisis. It is time to do as it is written in the scriptures:

"This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'" Jeremiah 6:16.
We pray that some in this generation will ask for that ancient path and try to walk it out :-)

Join us in SET APART as we pull aside from the rat-race of life to explore the ancient paths trodden by Christ, by John the Baptist, by early Christians, by the desert Fathers, and by powerful contemporary disciples of Christ. You have everything to lose and intimacy with Christ to gain. Are you ready for reality?

What is SET APART ?
SET APART is a learning experience for living together an authentic Christianity where young adults who desire to respond to the radical call of Christ can explore doing life differently! More like Jesus' Sermon on the Mount and less like the world. In SET APART, there will be a forum for study, prayer and discussion of Christian practices that have been largely forgotten by Western Christians. It is an opportunity to practice and experience first-hand the power of fasting, prayer, solitude and silence in your search for greater intimacy with our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is potentially the beginning of a whole new way of life, a whole new realm of love. A realm for the ordinary radicals, Kingdom activists, under cover hermits and revolutionary lovers of God :-)

Where and When?
SET APART is an 8 week experiment.

Week 1:
The first week, is face to face where we get to share life together on beautiful Mont Sutton...can't be bad to share a whole mountain with a bunch of Jesus freaks :-)

Weeks 2-8:
We will continue SET APART but virtually ... it will take place in your own home, by conference call and through email. If possible we will gather together in different cities depending on who comes from where.

Important Dates:
First day together is Saturday May 16, 2009 at 2 PM.

Departure:
Sunday May 24, 2009.
Then we continue virtually...(weekly conference call, emails, online...)

Location:
Mont Sutton, Quebec (about 1 hour 15 minutes from Montreal, in the beautiful Eastern township mountains.) we are renting a lodge and a number of beautiful chalets

Who can participate?
This initiative is focused on 18 to 35 years olds. We strongly encourage you to attend the School fo the Heart before coming to SET APART.
There will be an admission process.
You have to apply to participate.
We encourage families to come with their children. This may mean taking your children out of school for the week. We strongly recommend you bring your own babysitter so you may participate fully in the experience. Child care is not guaranteed. Please let us know and we will do our best to see something worked out.
